Biography:
Robert D. Peltz has been Board Certified in Civil Trial Practice since 1986, selected as a Florida Super Lawyer in the field of admiralty and transportation law for each of the past 13 years, served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the MLA’s Cruise Line and Passenger Ship Committee for 7 years, elected as President of the Dade County Trial Lawyers and published 21 law review articles. He is also a charter member of the Miami Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, designated a Proctor in Admiralty by the MLA and has lectured on a variety of topics across the country for the American Academy of Justice, Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers, Maritime Law Association, Cruise Line International Association, Florida Bar, Southeast Admiralty Law Institute, Mariner’s Club, ABA and various international protection & indemnity clubs. After spending approximately half his 40 year career representing plaintiffs and half maritime defendants, he founded The Peltz Law Firm, P.A. in 2014. The firm focuses on providing litigation support at both the trial and appellate levels to Plaintiff’s firms that find the need for assistance in particular cases, either because of their subject matter and complexity, the competing demands of other cases or to match the more extensive resources of the defense firm(s) arrayed against them. The firm provides litigation support in both maritime and land based cases, including construction, products liability and malpractice cases and has extensive experience with federal court litigation.
