Biography:
Charles Mustell is a 1986 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 1989 graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. During his education, Mr. Mustell was awarded the prestigious honor of being named a Presidential Scholar as well as being named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement and being awarded an academic scholarship.
Mr. Mustell is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and has been licensed in the state since 1989. Mr. Mustell is also licensed to practice law in Federal Court and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Mustell began his career with the prestigious statewide insurance defense law firm of Kubicki and Draper in Miami, Florida. As a trial lawyer at Kubicki and Draper; Mr. Mustell handled and went to trial on various types of insurance defense cases, including wrongful death, automobile accident, premises liability, negligent security, medical malpractice, PIP insurance coverage and other complex tort litigation.
During his nine years at Kubicki and Draper, Mr. Mustell represented and litigated cases on behalf of numerous insurance companies such as State Farm, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, St. Paul, CNA, Lloyd’s of London, GEICO and Progressive Insurance Company.
Mr. Mustell gained invaluable courtroom experience during his nine years at Kubicki and Draper as lead trial attorney for the insurance companies in an extensive number of jury trials.
After having spent nine years representing and going to trial on behalf of the insurance companies at Kubicki and Draper, Mr. Mustell decided that it would be more fulfilling to represent the injured victims of negligence in their fight against the large insurance companies and left his old firm to form the personal injury law firm of Mustell & Borrow
. In 1998, Mr. Mustell formed the personal injury law firm of Mustell & Borrow. Mr. Mustell has successfully represented hundreds of personal injury clients in cases involving wrongful death, automobile accidents, slip/trip and falls, negligent security, nursing home abuse and medical malpractice. During that time, Mr. Mustell has put to use the knowledge that he gained during his years representing the insurance companies for the benefit of his injured clients so as to maximize their settlements and trial verdicts.
In 2015, Mr. Mustell has continued his long career in pursuit of justice for the victims of negligence and formed The Mustell Law Firm. Mr. Mustell points to the fact that he receives countless referrals from his past clients and from other lawyers as his proudest achievement and as evidence of the quality of his representation of past and existing clients. Mr. Mustell is a long standing member of the Florida Bar, the Miami Dade County Bar Association and the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers/Florida Justice Association.
Mr. Mustell is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an honor reserved for only those lawyers who have achieved a verdicts, awards or settlements in the amount of one million dollars or more.
