Biography:
Miranda is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer and has tried more than 50 cases, bench and jury trials. She has defended a wide range of matters, including commercial and business disputes, professional and legal malpractice claims, product liability, complex fraud matters, public policy matters, cases of first impression, high-stakes personal injury cases, franchisee/franchisor litigation, and premises liability at the state and federal levels. Before joining Shutts, Miranda was a partner at Shook, Hardy & Bacon where she handled product liability and tobacco litigation. She served as lead counsel for the Miami and Fort Myers offices of Allstate Insurance Company, where she received the Distinguished Performance Award, the company’s highest honor. She has provided legal opinions to CNN News. Miranda began her career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office prosecuting misdemeanor to first-degree felony cases. Miranda was appointed by The Florida Bar to serve a three-year term on an Eleventh Judicial Circuit’s Grievance Committee and is a Board of Director for the Dade County Bar Association. Miranda was also selected by the Dade County Bar Association as one of Miami's top 10 litigators to present its annual Super Lawyers CLE Mock Trial. Miranda was a finalist for CLM's Professional Outside Counsel of the Year Award. She is also a faculty member for the American Bar Association, CLM and Defense Research Institute. Miranda received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications & Information Sciences at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and her Juris Doctorate at Drake University School of Law in Des Moines, Iowa.
