Biography:
Mr. Groves was born in Miami, Florida. He attended college at the University of Miami where he received his B.A. Degree in Finance in 1976. He returned to the University of Miami and obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1985, graduating Cum Laude. He is married to Denise Groves and they have two children, Corley and John Wesley. He enjoys golfing and boating. He is admitted to practice in both the Federal and State Courts in and for the State of Florida.
Mr. Groves is a member of the Miami Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation only group of trial attorneys required to be certified by the local Bench and Bar as exceptional practitioner in the community. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association, American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, Association for Trial Lawyers and formerly served on the Executive Committee Member of the University of Miami/Eugene P. Spellman American Inn of Court. He is an AV® Rated Pre-Eminent ™ Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Groves has tried numerous cases in professional liability including medical negligence claims and general civil litigation involving catastrophic injuries. He has tried cases in multiple venues in the State of Florida from West Palm Beach to Key West. He has been honored to speak at multiple local and national meetings relating to issues of law and medicine. Admitted to practice in 1985, Florida; United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, admitted in 1988.
