Biography:
Stuart Z. Grossman is co-founder of the firm Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen. Mr. Grossman is recognized as one of America’s pre-eminent trial lawyers concentrating in medical malpractice, products liability, police misconduct, aviation, and personal injury litigation. He was admitted to the bar in 1973. Preparatory and Legal Education: University of Miami, B.A., 1968; University of Miami, J.D., 1973. He was named an Alumnus of Distinction from the School of Law. He served in the United States Coast Guard.
Mr. Grossman was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates of Florida. He was the recipient of the Florida Justice Association’s highest award, The Perry Nichols Award; the Al J. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award; the FJA’s Compassionate Gladiator award; the FJA’s Crystal Eagle Award; the FJA’s Eagle Centurion Award and inducted into the FJA’s Hall of Fame. He was awarded Robert Shevin Community Service Award by Miami-Dade County Bar Association; awarded Legal Luminary Award as Best Personal Injury Lawyer 2017 by Miami-Dade County Bar Association; received The Johnnie M. Ridgely President's Award by Miami-Dade County Bar Association; named a Legal Legend by History Miami in 2015. He is a Fellow and Director of the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers; Member, Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, 1988-2000; past vice chairman of American Bar Association's Law and Medicine Committee; elected into Iron Arrow, the University of Miami’s highest honorary society. He was named in South Florida Business Leader’s The Power Issue – the Leaders of South Florida Business; selected for Lifetime Achievement by America’s Top 100 Attorneys; received Marquis International Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award. For years Mr. Grossman has been named in Best Lawyers in America; Lawdragon named him as one of America’s 500 leading attorneys in all fields and named him to the Lawdragon Hall of Fame; Florida Trend Magazine and Florida Super Lawyers have both named him as one of the state’s top 10 trial lawyers. When not in the courtroom, Mr. Grossman is an author and lecturer, and is actively involved in issues regarding the prevention of malpractice and catastrophic accidents. He is chairman of Margaux’s Miracle Foundation, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York.
