Biography:
Marc earned his Bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University, and his law degree from Nova University School of Law. Since his admission to the Florida Bar in 1992, he has specialized in professional liability, professional rights, health law, general liability and risk management services. Prior to entering private practice, he was a Corporate Risk Manager/Attorney for EMSA Limited Partnership (n/k/a Team Health), a company that provides health care professional staffing services to various health care facilities nationwide.
Marc has developed a specific expertise in EMTALA and Florida Anti-Dumping Laws. He has lectured on the topics both in Florida and nationally. He also was one of the first attorneys to successfully represent an emergency department physician at the administrative trial level; wherein, the Federal Government was attempting to remove the physician’s Medicare/Medicaid privileges. He has assisted physicians and facilities throughout the country in addressing EMTALA investigations and claims.
He previously was a Certified Health Care Risk Manager in the State of Florida. He is a member of the Health and Administrative Law sections of The Florida Bar; the Miami-Dade County Bar Association; the Broward County Bar Association; the U.S. District Court of Appeals; and the United States Supreme Court. He has previously served on the Eleventh Circuit Fee Arbitration Committee of The Florida Bar. He has also served on the Board of Directors of The Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation.
Marc was selected one of 2013 Top Rated Lawyers in Health Care by American Lawyer Media and Martindale-Hubbell. Marc has been selected by Super Lawyers Magazine Florida Editions 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 as one of the Super Lawyers. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from America’s Top 100 Attorneys. Marc was designed “AV Preeminent” in 2013 from Martindale-Hubbell. Marc has been a member of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) since 2010.
